![]() I would recommend it for everyone, we all need just a little time to relax. If we were hungry, we went out for lunch. So when they asked to go in the hot tub, we did. Being away forced us not to have any times to do anything by or arrangements to meet. I wasn’t constantly saying to the boys, ‘in a minute, let me just finish this, I’m just making dinner.etc’ because I had nothing I needed to do or get on with. We played games, watched the telly, went out for walks – We did very little really but everything we did do, we done as a family. There was a shop on site and we could walk to the pub, need I say more? We had a hot tub on the decking, a park for the kids and a ton of grass for them to run around on. Absolutely terrible for the waistline but just what we needed. Other than that we had pub lunches and takeaway, cheese and crackers, cookies, brownies and popcorn. The only meal I took up was a chicken pie I made earlier in the week and froze which I put in as soon as we arrived. Block out me-time each week (or every two weeks) If you have children, a partner, or other crucial responsibilities, claim a block of time every week to have time for yourself away from your everyday life and busy schedule. So our weekend away was absolutely fantastic! It forced all of us to take a minute, and RELAX. Synonyms for taking time out include taking a break, breaking off, easing off, pausing, putting your feet up, relaxing, resting, stopping, taking a breather and taking a rest. These long weekends are a great opportunity to get some sleep, relax, and recharge with a full 72 hours to ourselves. Learn to fill your cup before pouring from it. In an attempt to create more time during the weekends, I started waking up early in the weekends around 6 to 7 am. (I’m not going to lie – sometimes it makes me giggle!) He’s constantly telling me to go to bed but I really think it’s not plausible for me to go to bed when the children do, so I annoy him constantly on the sofa. ![]() I never relax, I am terrible, I tend to just keep going until I sit down in the evening and start to fall asleep from about 8.30pm. ![]()
